Karen Katrina Johnson runs a non-profit that gives aid to African countries. Well, that was until she was heckled during her TED Talk presentation, accused of being a white savior, a term she was clearly oblivious to despite her embarrassing efforts to prove otherwise. Her ignorance and failure was a total sensation: videos go viral, and, before she knows it, she’s accused of being a “real Karen” too, whatever that means! Immediately her board of directors asks for a resignation and her husband asks for a divorce (in order to save his own career). Karen, who has always wanted to be a celebrity and now is on the cover of every newspaper, must save her stupid-looking face, i.e. get “woke”, in order to restore her comfortable life.
